Getting Organized: Using Del.icio.us and Wikis to organize library content

workshop held May 13, 2009 at WPI

Description: Are you using del.cio.us to organize your favorite websites so that you can access them from any computer? Did you know that del.icio.us can do a lot more for you? Come learn what tags, tag clouds, bundles, and folksonomy are and how to use del.icio.us to update web resources, subject guides or pathfinders on your library’s website. This portion of the workshop will be presented by Pingsheng Chen, Electronic Resources and Virtual Reference Supervisor, Worcester Public Library.

Please create a free delicious account at www.delicious.com before attending this workshop.

Another tool libraries use to get organized is wikis. Do you need an easy way to create web pages? Do you want to share the work of editing content or collaborate on a project? Come hear about some local wiki projects and get started creating your own wiki. We'll also discuss how to pick a wiki hosting service. This portion of the workshop will be led by Betsy Like, Educational Services & Training Librarian, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University.
